Iron Fist
With an Iron cross on the bonnet and astance that could scare the life out of
any road user, this Mk2 bares testament to
the dubbing scene in the eastern cape and
shows that the VW still rules
Makaveli
Makaveli was a famous Don who went intohiding for his own reasons. Muaaz Mohamed
has named his ride Makaveli for obvious
reasons but he won’t be going into
hiding any time soon we hope!
Caddy Shack
Very rarely does a car have the power todemand a presence and respect from all who
encounter it, just like Shakeel's caddy.
Classic Culture
Like the laid-back people of Cape Townnothing can be more tranquil and rustic
than a 1965 Karmann Ghia.

Editor's letter
Ok so we’ve moved premises andwe’re all set to roll for the last
few issues of the year, but
there’s something that keeps
coming to my attention. Where is
everybody and why are they being so
quiet? Could it be this damn economy
of ours that is creating uncertainty
and making us watch our last penny?
Whatever it is the scene seems to be
very quiet at the moment and it
seems as though everybody is winding
down for the year. There have been a
couple of events though and
they’ve been awesome to say the
least. The first that comes to mind
is the Hot Hatch festival that took
place recently at Tarlton. Being the
second event that Jeremy and Aldo
have put together it was a well
planned and executed day that went
off with no evident hitches at all.
Another event that we covered was
the Spring Stance that took place in
Cape Town and saw a shed load of the
hottest VW’s, Audi’s and
Seat’s all packed into one place.
These boys and girls could teach us
a thing or two without a
doubt!
Feature wise we
have some wicked cars from around
the country again. A first however
is a Mk2 that hails from PE and is
the very proud possession of Amish
Raga. He bought the car in a
derelict state and has nursed it
back to health over time. If you had
to look at it you would be forgiven
for mistaking it for a ride from
some far off place. Next on the list
is Muaaz’s tight Mk4 that also
appears to be fresh from the shores
of California. This thing rides on
fat wheels and has a colour scheme
to die for. Yusuf, our boy in the
Cape was kind enough to send us some
shots of a very old school Karmann
Ghia that has been meticulously kept
and has been introduced to the
tarmac by means of a full custom
drop. Last but not least is the
trickest Caddy I have seen in ages.
It belongs to Shakeel of Low Rider
Customs and is the result of loads
of bits borrowed from all sorts of
cars. On the technical side of
things we’ve kept to a simple
theme again and the first up was a
tyre stretching exercise that Amish
helped us out with in PE. For the
more performance orientated guys, we
strapped a bigger turbo onto Zacks
GTiR with the help of Ivan and Jabu
at Mr. Turbo and had some pretty
wicked performance gains from
it.
This is one of my
favourite issues and I’m pretty
sure that you’ll enjoy it too. -
